Blunt blocks rounded and smoothed by some imaginary blade. Geometric order is broken, swept away by a movement, a line which follows the contour. The different faces reveal veins formed by stitching, at times as visible as tacking, at others disappearing. The outer shape seems to be independent from the inner frame and padding. Sofa, armchair, chair: a modular system in which each component has its own independent character, both in its use and sculptural feel.Flame-resistant expanded polyurethane foam of different densities. ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo, Spain, and currently lives and works in Milan. She studied at the faculty of Architecture at the Madrid Politecnico and at Politecnico di Milano, where she graduated in 1989.
